Methodology
How we score
Rankings on this site are produced by a fixed rubric, not editorial preference. The weights below are applied identically to every platform, and the resulting total determines rank order. We publish this so you can disagree with our weighting and re-rank for yourself.

The 100-point rubric
Six criteria, weighted as follows.
Pricing transparency
20 ptsIs a real rate published without talking to sales? Are add-ons, overages and model costs disclosed up front?
Outbound capability
20 ptsDepth of genuine outbound calling: autonomous agents, campaign tooling, dialer modes, transfers and concurrency headroom.
Compliance & security
20 ptsSOC 2 (and which type), HIPAA/BAA, PCI, GDPR, plus outbound-specific controls: TCPA tooling, DNC scrubbing, STIR/SHAKEN.
Integrations & extensibility
15 ptsCRM depth, API and webhook access, telephony flexibility (SIP/BYOC) and data-provider connections.
Time to first call
15 ptsHow fast a real buyer can place a live call: self-serve signup, free credits, trial terms, sales gating.
Scale & reliability
10 ptsConcurrency ceilings, uptime commitments, dedicated or on-prem/VPC deployment options.
Why transparency and compliance carry 40 points
That is a deliberate editorial position, and it is the most contestable choice we make. This category has already produced a federal enforcement action: in March 2026 the FTC banned Air AI's owners from marketing business opportunities after alleging false earnings claims, with roughly $19 million in consumer harm. Meanwhile 6 of the 14 platforms we scored will not show a buyer a price without a sales call.
In a market with those characteristics, we think a vendor that publishes its rate and its certifications has told you something load-bearing about how it will treat you as a customer. If you weight raw capability higher, thecomparison table shows every sub-score so you can reorder them yourself.
Grade bands
| Grade | Total score |
|---|---|
| A | 88–100 |
| A− | 80–87 |
| B+ | 72–79 |
| B | 64–71 |
| B− | 56–63 |
| C+ | 48–55 |
| C | below 48 |
Ties are broken by the outbound capability sub-score. If still tied, the platform with the higher pricing transparency score ranks first.
How we gather data
- Every price, tier, limit and certification is read from the vendor's own published pricing or security documentation, and recorded with the date we read it.
- Where a vendor does not publish a figure, we record it as "not disclosed" rather than estimating. A missing number is itself scored — under pricing transparency.
- Regulatory claims are sourced to the regulator. Our Air AI entry cites the FTC case file and press release directly, not secondary coverage.
- Every review page lists its sources with retrieval dates at the bottom.
What we do not yet measure
Stating limitations plainly is part of the method. As of this version, our scores do not include independently measured voice latency, answer-rate or connect-rate benchmarks, or audio quality testing. Vendors publish latency figures on different methodologies and they are not comparable, so we exclude them rather than repeat marketing numbers as if they were measurements. Hands-on benchmarking is the next planned addition to this rubric, and it will be labelled clearly when it lands.
Compensation and independence
This site earns money three ways: affiliate commissions on some outbound links, paid placements that are always labelled as sponsored, and a matching service where we route a buyer's requirements to vendors. None of these affect a rubric score or rank position.
The practical safeguard is that the scores are reproducible: the rubric is public, the sub-scores are public, and the sources are public. If a score looks wrong to you, you can check it against the vendor's own page and tell us. We publish corrections.
